The 2008 MSFB Entertainment Lineup

Jubeus

An intoxicating spirit of roots-rock and soul best describes the sound of Jubeus, an innovative quintet bearing songs filled with warmth and vigor for the listener. Basing most of their compositions around Jason Masi's singer/songwriter approach, Mike Jarvis (bass), Seth Thomas (guitar), Eric Jack (drums) and Brian Reed (keyboards, auxiliary percussion and instrumentation) display a unique ability to blend various styles including Latin, folk, funk and reggae into contemporary pop rock tunes. While parallels have been drawn between acts such as Rusted Root, Maroon 5, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Carbon Leaf, Jubeus provides audiences with a life and pulse unmistakably their own.

The Dreamscapes Project

Merging folk, rock, jazz, punk, swing, ska, funk, pop, and hip-hop, the quintet -- Keith Center (vocals/guitar), Jeremy Rodgers (bass guitar/vocals), Ben Guy (cello/vocals), Gordon Shankman (drums/percussion) and Eric Sanford (percussion/drums) -- has earned a loyal following in the Washington, DC area. "The Dreamscapes Project is one of the most innovative bands to come out of the East Coast in the last decade. Picture Dave Matthews meets Live, and you've got 'Pity In A Heartbeat,' the band's newest offering. Completely acoustic, and interwoven with shining cello, 'Pity In A Heartbeat' breathes a new breath of life to Washington D.C.'s stale acoustic scene.

Thrir Venstri Foetr (aka Three Left Feet)

Thrir Venstri Foetr is a dance group and band organized to recreate and explore medieval music and renaissance music and dance, concentrating primarily on English Country Dance. The name Thrir Venstri Foetr is Old Norse for 'Three Left Feet,' and the group is known by the English version of its name as well as the Norse. They are based in the Washingon, DC area and have performed at many different events including local festivals such as the Maryland Renaissance Festival. They teach simple dances with basic footwork during their performances.
