The Cause : Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, unpredictable disease that affects the central nervous system. Although MS is not usually a fatal disease, its effects can be devastating to those affected, their friends, and their families. In some cases, people with MS can become severely disabled, relying on wheelchairs and power scooters for even the smallest amount of mobility.Drugs can help slow the course of the disease in some patients, but there is no cure... yet. That's why we want you to join us for a sparkling evening of entertainment to help bring us closer to a cure.
All proceeds from the MS Fantasy Ball will help the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in its fight to eradicate multiple sclerosis. Specifically, proceeds from the Ball will sponsor Team Wench as they participate in the 2008 MS Capital Challenge Walk: a 2 day, 50k trek through the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area ending at the U.S. Capitol! To learn more about multiple sclerosis, programs near you, or what you can do to help, please visit www.nmss.org.
About the MS Challenge Walk
The MS Challenge Walk is a two-day adventure that brings people together with a common goal: to cure MS. On Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28, hundreds of walkers, crew members and volunteers will undertake a journey, that not only raises thousands of dollars for the National MS Society, but also raises awareness about multiple sclerosis.
