It's Summer Time!
Summer is here! Although it hasn't feel much like summer around lately,
there are things are hoppin' here. Since many folks are choosing to
stay closer to home these days, we thought we would bring the excitement
of our charity fundraising activities to you!
Yes, now you can participate in one of our fundraising auctions from
your computer. We now have an eBay® profile
(teamwench-inc)
and hope to be able to help more charities by running online auctions
throughout the year. Stop by to see what is currently up for grabs!
But the action doesn't stop there. We have several Walks already
completed and several more events coming up.
Check out our calendar page for
our details and dates.
And don't forget that our 2009
Charity Yard Sale (formerly
known as Prepare for Faire) is coming up! We are still
accepting donated items to be sold at the yard sale, so keep cleaning
out those closets and de-cluttering your spaces! Please contact our
Charity Yard Sale 2009 Chair,
Cyd Shelby, if you
have anything to donate.
Don't forget to check out our Team Wench Gear
at our Cafe Press sites! Why not chill out this summer with some cool
new swag? New items and designs are now available.
As always, you can find out more about all of our happenings here on the website (using the links to the left) or by subscribing to our Team Wench Events email list.
Farewell Dear Friend
It is with sadness that we share the news that Kathleen "Katelyn" Martin, Team Wench's Acquisition Specialist, passed away on Saturday, May 9th, 2009.
Katelyn had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments and so her immune system was low. What should have been a stomach bug that a normal immune system would have handled easily proved to be too much for her body.
Katelyn was a volunteer at most major Team Wench events since 2003. She was always willing to lend a hand; whether it was volunteering during an event, collecting donated items at faires, cheering on walkers, or hosting a sewing day at her home to make garb for our charity yard sale. In 2008, Katelyn became our Acquisition Specialist in charge of receiving and tracking the items donated to Team Wench. She loved this role and was excited about finding new vendors, debuting new items from returning vendors, and finding ways to keep our raffles and auctions fresh and interesting.
Katelyn was a constant presence in Team Wench and she will be deeply missed.
